I chose to remix this Essay because I believe it is some of my better writing and I wrote it about my sister which opened up a lot of options for things I could do. I chose to do an art piece for several reasons; the first was because my essay was describing Faith and I was to describe her visually through a drawing or painting. I also picked an art piece because Faith loves art, in fact, I used one of her canvases to draw my piece on. A drawing also allowed me to include a visual representation of some of the things I mentioned in my essay that Faith and I bonded over. In my essay I mentioned how we spent a lot of time together in the car: “...because she is 3 years my senior she got her driver’s licence long before me so she acted as my personal chauffeur for several years” during this time spent in the car our bond got stronger. That 2008 light blue Highlander became very special to us and represents Faith well, that is why I included a drawing of it in my piece.
Our adventures at Target also played a part in my essay. I wrote that we would “go out and mess around in target or simply just go for a drive.” I did not write about this much in my essay but Target played a large role in forming our relationship. Without Target we would not have the same relationship and it is a place that really means a lot to Faith and I so I put the logo on my piece as well. I also included a rough drawing of my Dog Teddy because he is the best and Faith and I truly bonded over our fury little brother. We used to take him for walks and cuddle with him on the couch while watching our favorite movies. Our family is not complete with Teddy laying at our feet. The numbers “1685” are also on the piece in pink. This is the address to our childhood home in Roswell where Faith and I did most of our bonding and spent most of our time together. I included it because it is where our family grew up, it will always have a place in our hearts. I added the pink to the letters because Faith’s favorite color is pink. These are the things that I think of when I think of Faith, a visual representation of her description would be incomplete without them.
